Arbutus branches

Good afternoon

I have an idea for an art project that I want to try out. I want to use some arbutus branches my question is though I want the full natural look. I wont be sanding and dont want to use a stain. How do I keep the beauty of this tree without having it change color over time?

--- Dry it then add varathane.
