Dried arbutus logs

by Margaret Spencer
(Vancouver Island canada)

We just bought some property and there must be 10 or more arbutus logs stacked up. Each log is about 8 to 10 feet long and10 to 15 inches in diameter. I have no idea how long these logs have been sitting but there is a fir log that is twice the size in diameter that the bugs have eaten over half of it

My question is are these logs to hard to saw? If there is any value in them we do have a local small custom saw mill nearby? Is there any use for these logs?

Cut into them to see. Most likely cracked and thus not very useful for lumber.

Good for firewood though.
