drinking vessels

what finish would you recommend for wooden drinking vessels? I turn cups, but have never actually used one to drink out of. I finish them with Walnut oil/beeswax blend, and it looks great. But I was wondering what would make the vessel safe to hold liquid.

Should be fine as is... but you will have to add more finish as you use it.Or go high tech with a plastic like finish but may interact with alcoho beverages... so do what you think is best.
