What is easy care food-safe lacquer?

No idea at all! Lacquer is made with chemicals. Some people claim that once it dries it is non toxic. Ask what the ingredients are and then you can decide.

Personally, I avoid things made with chemicals but I am very health conscious.

If the piece is used for non liquid things like nuts, then it would not be a big deal but for hot things, my preference would be to use ingredients like walnut oil that you can eat safely!
