Engreaved wooden cutting boards

Hi,

I engrave cutting boards but want to know if using mineral oils etc would this darken the picture from the board as obviously you need to be able to see the engraving.

Any oil will enrich the wood and grain to reveal its beauty. But that should not interfere with the picture.

To be safe, try it on some scrap to see.
