Finishes seal?

Does the Walnut oil seal, i.e. liquid proof the wood?

No it does not... It reduces the amount of penetration but it is not a complete block.

You have to add more oil regularly.

If you want a complete seal then you need a high tech finish. And that is not my expertise and how food-safe I do not know.
