I use the best German made sandpaper for my flap-sander. Whenever I have to change the sandpaper, I keep the discards because half of it that attaches to the flapper is never used. All you have to do is rip off the used part.

The sandpaper is Klingspor cloth backed super Highest Quality Sandpaper ideal for Woodturners.

Once ripped you would have 6"x2.5", ideal for wood lathe sanding.
