leak-proof sealant for olive wood

I have a beautiful olive wood honey barrel. I filled it with honey and found that it leaks slowly in one place. Could I make it leak-proof if I coat it inside and out with your beeswax and walnut oil recommendation? If so, what proportions should I use, and how many coats?

I wouldn't think that would work. If you can find the leak, then you can fill it with some carnuba wax from Lee Valley Tools.
