Seal for wood bowl

We bought a bowl in Italy that is a solid olive tree bowl, but it has developed a leak because of a knot in the wood of the bowl. It is a large bowl. How can we seal this knot/leak?

If it is a tiny leak you could use some beeswax. If bigger then you will need a hi-tech method using an acrylic sealant. Once dry it is food safe. Ask at your hardware store or marine supply.
