Walnut Oil as wood sealer

Hi-

Can walnut oil can be used by itself to seal an unfinished table made of pine? I'm looking for a natural alternative to polyurethane.

Walnut oil will not "seal" the table but can provide a protective coating. The more applications you apply the better. But since you are not eating directly on the table (I assume!) then a high tech finish may be better if you want it never to be damaged.
